Creative students often have big ideas, strong opinions, and powerful stories—but without the right outlet, those talents can go unnoticed or underdeveloped. The Future Storytellers’ Academy was created to change that, offering students in grades 6–12 a structured, supportive space where creativity becomes confidence and ideas turn into impact.
Founded by Nora and Arold Jacques, entrepreneurs and digital marketing professionals, the Future Storytellers’ Academy provides hands-on training in journalism, digital storytelling, and leadership. The seven-week program helps students channel their creativity into meaningful projects while learning real-world skills that extend far beyond media.
“Creative kids need healthy outlets for self-expression,” said Nora. “When students are given the tools to communicate clearly and responsibly, they don’t just create content—they find their voice and learn how to use it with purpose.” She continued.
Students learn how to interview effectively, film like digital creators, edit like producers, and confidently appear on camera. More importantly, they are encouraged to spotlight issues, people, and stories they care about in their own communities.
A standout component of this session is live production training at field trips and outings, where students will work as a media crew—interviewing college representatives and fellow students while capturing real-time event coverage. This experience exposes students to higher education pathways while strengthening teamwork, communication, and leadership skills.
Throughout the program, students collaborate in teams to produce:
- A podcast episode
- A written article
- A video story
Participants receive a Future Storytellers’ Academy T-shirt, a certificate of completion, and recognition during a graduation and screening ceremony on Saturday, March 14 at 1:00 p.m., where families will celebrate their achievements.
Running from January 31 through March 14, the program includes six instructional sessions plus orientation and graduation. Weekly lessons guide students through journalism fundamentals, on-camera confidence, interviewing, filming, editing, and final production.
More than a media workshop, the Future Storytellers’ Academy is a creative outlet with purpose—helping students see themselves as capable communicators, critical thinkers, and future leaders.
“Every student has a story worth telling,” Arold added. “This program simply gives them the space and support to tell it well.”
