Yoga mats and rescue kittens will share the floor Aug. 15 in Lexington Park, where Hype House Cycle & Fitness is hosting a kitten yoga class that doubles as an adoption event.
The class starts at 11 a.m. Saturday at the studio, 21515 Great Mills Road, and pairs mindful movement with a rotating cast of adoptable kittens roaming the room during the session. The event is a partnership with the Animal Rescue & Outreach Organization, known as AROO.
What to expect
Participants of all fitness and yoga experience levels are welcome, and organizers ask attendees to bring their own mats. Space is limited, so advance reservations through Hype House Cycle & Fitness are encouraged.
Cost and how it helps
Admission is $25 per person, with a portion of that fee benefiting AROO’s rescue and rehabilitation work. Anyone who falls for one of the kittens during class can adopt on the spot for a $75 adoption fee paid directly to AROO, which supports the organization’s broader mission of rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals in the region.
